Delays in Danbury school audit could lead mayor to ‘evaluate’ education finances: ‘Very concerning’

DANBURY — The town has requested a fifth extension to total its financial audit thanks to delays from the college district, prompting the mayor to seek to evaluate any fundamental troubles in the office.

“It’s pretty about to me,” Mayor Dean Esposito mentioned. “I think we’re at a position in the around upcoming in which we have to genuinely appraise the Board of Instruction aspect and their financing technique there.”

The audit is commonly finished by December but the school district was unable to end its portion in time, which prevented the town from completing the whole assessment. Turnover in the school finance office and challenges with completing the audit remotely have been blamed for the hold off.
